Patch Handle Polythene Bags

Patch handle polythene carrier bags are one of the most widely used carrier bags. Commonly used on the high street for fashion outlets and sports outlets and also many exhibition or promotional situations.

The distinguishing feature of a patch bag is a small patch of polythene placed behind the handle location during manufacture so that when the handle hole is punched out, the surrounding LDPE or HDPE polythene is supported by an extra layer. This adds far greater strength around this area and allows the carrier bag to be used for longer periods and carry more weight. The bags are commonly side welded and produced with a base gusset to allow greater capacity within the bag. They can be produced without the patch reinforcement or base gusset if required.

Flexiloop Handled Polythene Bags
(Base gusset only)

We can supply a wide range of flexiloop and vari-loop carrier bags. These carrier bags have a loop handle giving a higher quality look to that of standard punched handle carrier bags. These bags can be printed up to full colour and with a coloured polythene handle.

Generally they are produced from a standard gauge material, usually between 45mu and 65mu (micron) LDPE (Low Density Polythene) and for small runs, can be supplied in any of the standard colours. These bags are ideal as bags for life and promoting reusable concepts. Flexiloop carrier bags also can be produced using a biodegradable polythene to help the environment too.

Flexiloop carrier bags can be printed with full ink coverage up to 6 or even 8 colours depending on quantity. The bags can be produced from a variety of different colour polythenes too. If the quantity is sufficient (based on weight of polythene) then the material can be extruded to any colour desired.

Varigauge Carrier Bags

Varigauge carrier bags are similar to the patch and accessory bags as far as looks go, however the structure of the bag differs slightly. The material around the handle of a varigague carrier bags is twice the thickness of the rest of the bag. This gives the extra strength required around the handle area without having an extra peice of polythene fitted to the inside. As the varigauge carrier bag is less complicated to produce, minimum quantities start as low as one thousand. The down side to the varigauge carrier bag, besides being slightly more expensive than a patch carrier bag, is the printing limitation. Due to the varying thickness of the material, it is only possible to reliably print spot colours onto the main face area of the bag. Such as for a 15"x18"+3" bag, the print area is 12"x12". Varigauge bags can be printed using 6 colours in total, but as the material is pre-folded, this is not per a side. One side can be printed with 5 colours, whilst the other only 1, for example.

These bags are great for small promotional events or small shops. Fast turn around can be achieved too, with the bags being delivered in as little as seven working days.

Flexiloop Handled Polythene Bags
(Side and base gusset)

Flexiloop handles can also be added to bags with a side and base gusset. This shape of bag allows for a much greater capacity than those without the side gusset. Perfect for shoe boxes, coats or large promotional items.

Side and base gusseted bags can be manufactured from wither high or low density polythene. The high density (HDPE) is much stronger, although costs slightly more.

Minimum quantities for this style are generally 5,000. The sizes are bespoke as the machines can be set to the size you require. Material colours and thicknesses are all variable options too.

Added extras with these styles of bag include turn over tops for extra strength, cardboard top and base reinforcements which help the bag to keep its shape once filled and UV or matt varnishes. It is also possible to add document pouches and gift tags to these bags.

Rope Handled Polythene Bags

Rope handles can be attached to side and base gusseted carrier bags instead of the usual more common flexiloop handle. The handles are simply knotted after being threaded through the metal eyelets. It is common practice to add a top cardboard reinforcement to give the bag strength and provide a fixing point for metal eyelets. Not only can you have a polypropylene handle, it can also be cotton. Alternatively ribbon handles or hollow PVC tube handles can be attached in the same way. If you can think of something alternative as a handle, just ask. Finally, with this shape of carrier bag, you can simply have the handle punched out similar to that of the patch handle carrier bags. As part of the finish to this type of bag are by hand, they are easily customisable.

Duffle Carrier Bags

Duffle carrier bags are an ideal alternative to a bag for life or just something that people want to reuse. They are easy to sling over the shoulder and robust enough to be relied upon as a kit bag or even a school bag.

We can provide a minimum of 1,000+ printed duffle bags. These can be printed onto a stock coloured material up to 4 spot colours. For full colour prints or more detiaed finishes, larger quantities are required.
The bag is prodced with a metal eyelet at the base, with the rope handle running through this and underneath the turn over top.

Drawstring Carrier Bags

Tape handled carrier bags are produced in much a similar way to the twisted paper handled SOS carrier bags, but fitted with an alternative handle. The tape handle can be fitted internally or externally. If internal, it can be designed to fold away within the bag to reduce wasted space in transit. Tape handles are fitted in line and as such only one machine is required to process if required to produce the bags from rolls of paper. This gives tape handles bags the edge on price although due to a more detailed machine set up, the competitive minimum quantities are 5,000 to 25,000 depending on size.

Double Duffle Carrier Bags

These carrier bags are identical to normal duffle carrier bags mentioned above, however, a second eyelet is placed in the opposite base corner which allows a second cord to go through the bag. This results in a carrier bag which can be held over both shoulders. Ideal for people on the go, or as seen in the photo here, motorcyclists.
